Darts,
First of all, great first 2 weeks of indoor track. We had some intense workouts and some fun workouts and I appreciate the energy and excitement that many of you have for the TEAM. We seem to be doing a good job getting together with the purpose of getting faster and stronger, but also having a good time and building TEAM unity as well. I want you to continue to think about winning as a TEAM and being successful as a TEAM when we meet and train together. As I said the other day, Davis High Track & Field has a great tradition of excellence. It is built on Hard Work, TEAM Work, having fun, and having a love for the sport. If you are training with us, but don't really have a love for track & field, I would ask that you try to develop that love. Thanks.
If you signed up for indoor track, and are getting this email, but have not been coming to the first 2 weeks of practice, I want you to know that it is not too late to be on the TEAM. I would invite you to join us for some of the workouts during the break (Mon-Wed-Mon-Wed). Don't let yourself make excuses. Don't let yourself be scared to try something new. Don't let yourself be lazy or content. Get involved - come and work out with us and try to have a good time. I think you will learn something about yourself. We are really in need of girl sprinters, jumpers, hurdlers, and throwers. Our numbers this year are a little down in those areas. So if you would like to start up during the break in those areas, please feel free to join us. If you know anyone who would be interested in those events, bring them along. Remember - we are not concerned with how "fast" or "good" you are, but we do want good people who want to be at practice, who want to make a difference on our TEAM, and who want to improve themselves. If you are having a difficult time getting motivated, working out with other people who have similar goals is a great way to keep you going.

*I have attached the initial information from the indoor track meeting with a more specific schedule with what you should be doing on the days we are not meeting.

I hope you all have a great holiday season. I hope you all enjoy your break with your families, away from school, but that you also use some of your time to stay active and get some work in. If you can't come to the organized practices, still find a way to get a workout in. This is the time of year where so many teams are not focused on getting better - where so many of your competitors will be relaxing. Being strong through the winter, and being willing to sacrifice some of your comfort, is one of the things that makes us strong in the spring. It is what gives us an advantage and makes us the toughest and most intimidating TEAMs in the state.
Keep working to perfect yourselves in your training and in all that you do.
Let me know if you have any questions.
